2 cups Coconut (fresh, grated) or
3 cups Coconut (desiccated)
4 cups Powdered Milk
1 can (175 ml) Evaporated Milk
½ cup Fresh milk, if required.
3 tbs Ghee
¾ cup Sugar
3 tbs Ghee (for greasing)
pinch of Lemon Color
Few Silver Leaves for decoration
Start with making khoya. Mix the powdered milk and ghee. Using evaporated milk, knead it into hard dough. Roll it to a hard ball and keep it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
Take out the khoya and grate it with a coarse grater.
In a pot heat the ghee, add coconut and fry a little.
Add khoya, color and sugar. Mix well and stir cook on low heat, use fresh milk if desired, till it has dried and it starts to come together leaving the sides of the pot.
Remove from heat and spread evenly in a greased flat dish to set. When cool cut into pieces, and decorate with silver leaves..
